The Newcastle Municipality has issued a statement informing residents that this Friday, September 24, no residential garbage will be collected.

“Residents are asked to keep their trash on their property until October 1st (next Friday), which is the next scheduled collection day. The collection of business refuse will be unaffected,” said Mlungisi Khumalo, municipal Head of Communications.

Affected suburbs are Hutten Heights, Fernwood, Amiel Park, Sunset View, Ghandi Park, Madadeni (Sections 7, N, L, and M), Charlestown, Ingagane, and Mathukuza.
