Ladysmith KZN: Pets get the jab to protect them from rabies
Over 200 dogs and cats were vaccinated on the day

On Friday, September 17, a free rabies vaccination site was set up at the Vleissentraal premises in Hunter Road, with people going in and out all day in an effort to keep their pets safe from this deadly disease.
The initiative was organised by Vleissentraal, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture.

The process was quick and efficient, with pet owners having to wait no more than five minutes while their beloved animals got the life-saving jab.
The team working on site was very friendly, with the help of student doctor Etienne Boucher, who volunteered on the day. Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) members were also there.
Before the gates closed, 234 dogs and cats had been vaccinated, making it a successful initiative.
