The Food for Life Estcourt branch is making strides in their mission to curb hunger in the community.

On October 31, the volunteers braved the blistering heat and prepared a nutritious meal of vegetable breyani and dhall.

Food for Life volunteers start with the meal preparation.

The target was to distribute 500 meals to residents in Forderville and surrounding areas. 250 meals were distributed from Twelfth Street and the remainder in the surrounding neighbourhoods.

“Since it is the most auspicious month of Kartik, we decided to do a personal distribution to families in need,” said Lokeshwar Das from Food for Life.
