VRYHEID KZN: Over 400 families blessed by Gift of the Givers
In addition to the food parcels, Gift of the Givers also donated a long list of items that included a few boxes of nappies to Inkululeko Children’s Home

Last week Thursday, the Gift of the Givers Foundation visited Vryheid to hand out 480 food parcels to those in need. This initiative was co-ordinated by Miriam Leveridge from Inkululeko Children’s Home, which is affiliated with Freedom Life Church. Miriam and her husband, Terry, have an outreach programme called Manna Ministries. Hlengiwe from Gift of the Givers contacted Miriam, saying they had received a donation from the Anglo America Group and ‘insisting’ that they wanted to bless close to 500 families in Vryheid with food parcels. The massive truck pulled in at Freedom Life Church, where people from Christelike Maatskaplike Dienste (CMD), Vryheid Child Welfare, His Way Church and Freedom Life Church had gathered to await the parcels. The parcels consisted of mealie meel, sugar, oil, long life milk, tinned food and rice, to name but a few of the items. Those who received the parcels had to be nominated by someone else to ‘qualify’. During these difficult economic times, this was a blessing for many people and their families. In addition to the food parcels, Gift of the Givers also donated a long list of items that included a few boxes of nappies to Inkululeko Children’s Home.
