The truck driver sustained injuries and was treated on scene before being taken to hospital
The N3 near the Tugela River was awash with maize and rice when a truck lost its load earlier today (November 30).
It is believed that the driver lost control of the truck, causing it to plough down the steep embankment.
The load of dried food was strewn across the roadway.
