DUNDEE KZN: Before we bid farewell to 2021
I mean some people at times go the extra mile just because they want to be seen as part of the group of people that have made it in life

We are just 26 days away before we bid farewell to the year 2021. It sounds so soon right? I know we all have different stories we can share perhaps from sunrise to sunset about the year 2021. What a year! I know I said its sounds so soon that this year is coming to an end but the truth is told, this has been one of the longest and draining years. Due to Covid19 this year has been nothing different compared with the year 2020 besides that we slightly got used to the “new normal’ way of living that doesn’t make sense at all.
Yes! We all have different stories to tell; and on that note, I would like to congratulate all who managed to fulfill their dreams in 2021. It shouldn’t matter how big or small your achievement is perceived but what should matter is that you managed to make it and for that reason; just remain proud of yourself. I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like we have made it a norm to worship the word “congratulations”.
I mean some people at times go the extra mile just because they want to be seen as part of the group of people that have made it in life. I mean who are you fooling? Selling your soul for material things and lousy “congratulations”, is it worth it? But if it makes you sleep better at night who am I to question your sense of reasoning? I’m trying to say it is not easy to be patient while going through the tunnel, I mean darkness is not only scary but somehow it contributes a lot to the notion of mental illness. It is not easy to watch people dancing in the light while the cloud of darkness is hovering over you, but just wait a little bit while you are not just folding arms because rest assured your moment will come.
Whatever you have been trying and praying for, eventually you will receive the portion of it, not just a portion but a large portion. Don’t go through that shameful and unnecessary extra mile just because you want to fit in. I have learned that no hard work will ever be enough, so instead of faking it, just continue and put more effort into what you want to achieve in life. Let us bring back the relevance to the actions that are performed consciously. Own your success, dig your own gold instead of the grave. Don’t let people own you! just because you are desperate for success. Working on this article, I feel like I can preach but probably it’s because I’m typing it on a Sunday morning.
In 2021 we cried about it, we laughed about it, we prayed about it. We received, we lost. We experienced happiness, we felt the pain. We struggled, we made it. If you know a roller coaster ride, I expect you to understand what I’m trying to say. I don’t know-how has been your perception of reality thus far but surely we all experienced something new, things we never anticipated but nonetheless that is life. Life has its own way of happening. I am praying that we may all completely heal from the pain that we experienced in the year 2021. It is fine! the scars will remain but may peace and healing haunts us on a daily basis moving forward.
I have noticed that shopping malls are glittering with decorations that come once a year. Some people are filled with the joy of the festive season and those who like to spend big amounts have started doing so. On that note, I would like to encourage everyone to take care and stay safe during the festive season. Let us avoid unnecessary accidents especially on our roads, drinking and driving is not something worth debatable. Let us continue to fight against gender-based violence so that we will live in a peaceful environment. ‘ENOUGH is ENOUGH and NO means NO”. May we receive a huge and warm hug of peace, love, happiness, prosperity, healing, forgiveness, and success; today, tomorrow, and forever.
