A message has been doing the rounds on social media, inviting people to make an appointment to attend ‘medical & training sessions’ at Ladysmith Provincial Hospital. Beware of this scam!

The sessions would supposedly take place on December 17, with a request for applicants to bring along two references, a copy of their ID Book and their SARS (tax) number.

Provincial Hospital PRO Thabo Sithole says this message is fake and the hospital does not hold ‘medical & training sessions’. 

The message included the names of Mr James Mbele and Mrs Hope Mankge, along with their contact details. According to Sithole, there are no such people employed at the hospital.

This is a scam, so be alert should you receive a text message with an invite to a medical session.
