SAPS arrested two suspects following a home invasion reported in Kwamathukuza.

Two suspects arrested after home invasion:

After invading a residence and assaulting the owner in Kwamathukuza last week (January 12), two suspects were swiftly apprehended.

According to Newcastle SAPS’s Corporate Communications Officer, Lizzy Arumugam, Newcastle Detectives were investigating a case of house robbery which occurred last week Wednesday at around 22:00.

“The victim (31), was at his home when two known suspects entered and took his DVD player while threatening him with a knife and slapping him,” she said.

Two suspects, aged 52 and 33, were apprehended after police were notified.

All the stolen items were subsequently recovered.

“Both suspects will appear before the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court this week.”

Police investigations continue.
