DUNDEE KZN:Sarel Cilliers honours its top achieving matrics of 2021
Sarel Cilliers would like to congratulate all of the matrics of 2021 on their achievements and wish them the best for their future endeavours.
The 2022 academic year started with an event-filled week, with Grade 8 learners arriving to begin their high school career, the return of past students after a long break, and the new prefects taking up their mantle of leadership.
However, the greatest event of the week was undoubtedly Friday’s announcement of the 2021 matric results.
Sarel Cilliers achieved a 94.1% pass rate for 2021.
The top five achievers did the school proud, with a total of 23 ‘A’ symbols achieved among them.
The top five achievers were as follows:
Revashan Kali: English Home Language – 82%; Afrikaans First Additional Language – 85%; Mathematics – 90%; Life Orientation – 97%; Accounting – 91%; Business Studies (taken as an extra subject) – 75%; Life Sciences – 87%; Physical Science 90%. Average – 88.85%.
Raymond Simpie Smith: English Home Language – 81%; Afrikaans First Additional Language – 77%; Mathematical Literacy – 91%; Life Orientation – 86%; Business Studies – 91%; Life Sciences – 71%; Tourism – 93%. Average – 84.28%.
Bongumenzi Buthelezi:
English Home Language – 79%; IsiZulu First Additional Language – 87%; Mathematics – 88%; Life Orientation – 67%; Accounting – 78%; Life Sciences – 88%; Physical Science – 87%. Average – 82%.
Shanique Uchee:
English Home Language – 78%; Afrikaans First Additional Language – 84%; Mathematics – 69%; Life Orientation – 92%; Accounting – 81%; Business Studies – 80%; Life Sciences – 79%; Physical Science – 70%. Average – 80.42%.
Thobeka Khoza: English Home Language – 76%; Afrikaans First Additional Language – 84%; Mathematics – 65%; Life Orientation – 98%; Accounting – 71%; Life Sciences – 77%; Physical Sciences – 63%. Average – 76.28%.
Revashan Kali and Simpie Smith attended the staff meeting on Monday morning and were congratulated by the principal, Mr Soobramoney, and the educators.
