KZN dam levels slightly increase
DWS has reiterated its call to residents to continue using water sparingly.
KZN dam levels have shown a slight increase. This is according to a weekly report on dam levels, issued by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS).
“The report this week shows a minimal increase of the province’s dam levels,” confirmed DWS spokesperson, Sputnik Ratau.
Nagle Dam recorded 91.2% last week and it is presently at 95.2%.
“One of the province’s largest dams, Albert-Falls Dam, has also increased from last week’s 86.7% and to 95.7% this week.”
Driel Barrage, Woodstock, Zaaihoek and Bivane Dams remain unchanged at 77.6%, 98.7%, 84.5% and 100% respectively.
“Midmar Dam has dropped from last week’s 101.5% to 100.9%. It is however still above the 100% mark. Meanwhile, Inanda Dam has also decreased from 102.4% and this week it is 101.7%,” said Ratau.
DWS has reiterated its call to residents to continue using water sparingly.
“Please report any water leaks and water infrastructure vandalism to local municipalities.”
