SANBS thanks Freedom Day donors –
339 lives have been saved, through the dedication of blood donors on Freedom Day yesterday (April 27).
This figure was provided by SANBS Donor Relations Practitioner, Shavani Sewpaul, who stated donors in Northern KwaZulu-Natal far exceeded expectations.
In total, NKZN had a combined target of 45 units. Sewpaul explained that a total of 113 units were instead collected for the day.
Newcastle had a target of 15 units for the day and we were able to collect 44 units, saving 132 lives,” added Sewpaul. “SANBS thanks the loyal community of Newcastle for heeding the call to donate blood on Freedom Day,” she concluded.
