Family festivities at Fort Amiel Museum –
Remembering the history of Newcastle and Fort Amiel – as well as the pride that came along with it – was part of the rational behind the recent ‘Fees by die Fort’. The event was hosted on Youth Day (June 16) at the Fort Amiel Museum.
According to organisers, the Schuinshoogte Kommando’s Voortrekkers youth organisation used the event as a fundraiser for its activities. Guests at the event enjoyed a wide variety of delicious treats including hamburgers, wors rolls, curry and rice, jaffles and mini doughnuts.
They would also browse the memorabilia available at the various market stalls.
