Wednesday morning last week saw yet another fatal collision at the Blood River Crossing.

Figuratively, the ink is not even dry yet since the Vryheid Herald reported on the last accident at the same crossing. In this instance, a bus and a car collided, leaving five people injured.

Emergency services responded to the scene and the injured were rushed to hospital. Sadly, a critically injured patient’s condition deteriorated and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The person passed away as a result of the injuries sustained.

It is alleged that one of the vehicles skipped the stop sign, which resulted in the collision.
