Newcastle municipality in mourning after councillor’s sudden passing

The Newcastle Municipality has been left in a state of shock following the sudden passing of Ward 31 Councillor, Nokusa Mroza Khumalo.
Newcastle Mayor Cllr. Xolani Dube, expressed shock and sadness on the death of Cllr Khumalo, who died at her home on Saturday morning (November 12).
“We salute a life well lived, a life lived to fulfil the aspirations of the underprivileged. Cllr Khumalo’s life serves as a reminder that honour is bestowed upon those whose humility and hard work result in positive change for ordinary citizens.”
Dube stated that this was a tragic blow for the Khumalo family, the council, and the entire Newcastle community, particularly Ward 31.
“This is the time to reflect on her work, commitments and consistent efforts to ensure that people’s service delivery was realized without compromise. We will remember Cllr. Khumalo as a gentle soul, a selfless fighter, and a fearless leader as a public representative,” he said.
