One person has died after the truck he was travelling in overturned on the R34 between Newcastle and Memel on Wednesday afternoon (December 21).
According to Jan-Henk Van Vuuren of Magenta Medical Services, when emergency services arrived on the scene, they found that one person had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
“Another occupant of the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital for further care,” said van Vuuren.
The exact cause of the collision is still unclear. A police investigation is continuing.
