AfriForum Utrecht branch services local police station’s generator
It was recently brought to the branch's attention that the police station had been left in the dark due to on-going loadshedding.
The Utrecht AfriForum branch renovated and serviced the local police station’s generator, which had been malfunctioning for about three years.
According to Anton Snyman, the Chairperson of AfriForum’s Utrecht branch, it was recently brought to the branch’s attention that the police station had been left in the dark due to on-going loadshedding.
“We discovered that the generator at the local police station was not working properly and decided to step in. We believe that the South African Police Service must be able to provide services at all times, regardless of loadshedding, “Snyman stated.
“On a daily basis, we see our branches in KwaZulu-Natal becoming more and more involved with critical necessities for their communities,” added Eugene van Aswegen, District Coordinator for KZN.
He said that ‘To make a real difference in Utrecht, the community is encouraged to get involved with this AfriForum branch: Text “Utrecht” to 45344. SMS’s cost R1.’
