Ayanda ‘Mnyamande da Vocalist’ Mphanza has a dream of making a local music video.
As the executive producer of Neutral Stereo FM (based in Dundee), Ayanda is not only passionate about radio, but his first love has always been music.
“As a young man from Dlamini Village in Dundee, our community is only known for negative things and I want to change that through music production and storytelling in my videos,” explained Ayanda.
He added that he has previously recorded some of his music and is now seeking sponsorship for his song ‘Uthando lwangempela’.
According to him, this song was inspired by his love for his hometown and his surroundings.
Ayanda believes that through his music, he can put Dundee on the map. However, due to financial constraints, he has not been able to live his dream.
“I am fully aware that music video production is costly, but my partner and I are looking to cut costs by localising it. We will only showcase Dundee and use local fashion designers for outfits,” says Ayanda.
“Local is lekker, and what better way to show Dundee to the whole world than through our music!” added Ayanda.
He concluded by saying that he will need financial sponsorship to get the video off the ground.
