Newcastle’s Deputy Mayor brings a glimmer of hope to Esididini Primary School

Mrs Nokuthula Nyongwana, speaking on behalf of the foundation, made a commitment and promised the Amajuba community continued support.

The learners of Esididini Primary School celebrated Valentine’s Day with joy, love, hope, and jubilation after Newcastle’s Deputy Mayor and Portfolio Chairperson for Technical Services, Cllr Musa ‘Shukela’ Thwala, and the Hollywoodbets foundation provided them with learner support, including over 50 school shoes.

The Newcastle municipality’s communications Department said that Cllr. Thwala, with the support of Newcastle Mayor Cllr Xolani Dube, sought assistance from the Hollywoodbets Foundation, to make a difference in the lives of Esididini’s underprivileged children.

The Hollywood Foundation was established in 2021 with the goal of providing hope to local communities and having a long-term impact.

Nokuthula Nyongwana, speaking on behalf of the foundation, made a commitment and promised the Amajuba community continued support.

She reiterated their commitment to bringing change and light to the community of Ward 31, particularly underprivileged children and the disabled.

Cllr M. Thwala promised to help the children not only with clothes but also with food, which will help students concentrate in class.

“We don’t want our kids worrying about other things when they should be focusing on their studies, so by giving them food and uniform support, we are also boosting their confidence.”

Thwala further urged learners ‘to keep their attention on their work and avoid being distracted.
