Amajuba District Municipality kick-starts strategic planning sessions
External stakeholders in attendance included the Auditor General, SALGA, uThukela Water, and COGTA.
The first day of the Amajuba District Municipality’s strategic planning session began on today (March 27) at the Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg.
This focused on the District’s approach to developing plans and programmes that were intended to improve service delivery as quickly as possible while adhering to the municipal mandate.
Amajuba Mayor, Cllr. UMntwana Ndabuko Zulu, praised the acting municipal manager and employees at all levels for their dedication to their work despite the district’s challenges, including financial constraints.
- P Manqele, acting municipal manager, officially opened the three-day session, which was facilitated by S. Gwala from SALGA. Deputy Mayor, Cllr L. Mthembu, Speaker of Council, Cllr uMtwana S.O Zulu, local Mayors, Councillors, Amakhosi, and municipal heads of departments were all present at the workshop.

The strat plan session is expected to end on March 29 and it will also be used to review municipal policies and prioritise budget allocations.
