Department of Health commemorates World TB Day

The Department of Health (Amajuba district), in collaboration with USAID and THINK, commemorated World Tuberculosis Day (TB) by providing health-related services at Dicks Hall last Friday (March 24).

The event, which was attended by Amajuba District Municipality Deputy Mayor ,Cllr T.E. Mthembu, aimed to raise awareness about tuberculosis while also providing services such as TB screening and testing, HIV, blood pressure and diabetes testing, measles and COVID-19 vaccinations, and chest x-rays.

Cllr Mthembu reminded those in attendance of the importance of early detection, treatment, and stigma reduction as tuberculosis continues to kill millions of people worldwide.
