Mine contractor found murdered

Duncan Thabede was found murdered on Friday morning. Police suspect that the murder took place between 20:00 the previous night and 05:30 on Friday morning. A witness arrived at Hlobane police station on Friday morning to report a suspicious-looking parked vehicle at the Boomlaer R69 turn-off. When police investigated, they found Thabede with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body in his bakkie. They found his belongings not far from the vehicle in the bushes. Police also found multiple cartridges and bullet heads at the scene. Allegedly, Thabede signed as a contractor at the Hlobane Mine two weeks ago and it is also believed that he carried cash on him. The case is under investigation.
