Dundee fraud suspect arrested in Newcastle

A man wanted for fraud in Dundee has been arrested by the Newcastle police.

Imran Ghafoor of the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team (CCPA) said the arrest was made during an intelligence-driven operation involving several crime-fighting teams and police officers.

The Newcastle Stabilisation Team, led by Sergeant. Birbal, together with Constables Mlambo and Khumalo, played an integral role in the arrest, together with the Amajuba District Drug Team’s Warrant Officer Singh, the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team (CCPA) Imran Ghafoor, and off-duty police officer Constable S. Ghafoor.

Members also found the suspect in possession of crystal meth.

The suspect is also facing additional charges for the negligent loss of a firearm and failure to safeguard ammunition.
