In an effort to support seven-year-old Josua Louwrens, who has recently been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, local band, Smokkelhuiz, along with various other local musicians, has stepped up by organising a one-day music festival on March 1.
The festival will raise funds to assist Josua’s parents with the high medical costs associated with his treatment.
The event will feature performances by a variety of local artists coming together to support a worthy cause. A few out-of-town acts may also be included.
Many of the artists have already confirmed participation, and organisers are eager for more to join the programme.
Any local musicians who would like to perform are welcome to contact the organisers – the more talent, the merrier.
The festival will be held at the Hutten Park Primary sports fields, uniting the community for a good cause.

Any contribution, big or small, will be highly valued.
Proceeds at the door, plus any profit made after all event expenses have been covered, will be paid directly over to Josua’s family to help with his treatment.
“Let us stand together as a community and give Josua and his family the support they need in this time of need.”
