Three arrested for drug possession in Osizweni

Three suspects were arrested for drug possession during a series of intelligence-driven operations last month conducted by Osizweni SAPS and other nearby police units from Amajuba District Newcastle.

Five mandrax tablets were seized from a home in Blaauwbosch, Zulu Stand, on February 7.

A 23-year-old man was apprehended for possession of mandrax valued at an estimated R300 on the streets.

A raid on the following night led to the confiscation of two small packets of crystal meth in Section B of the Osizweni policing area.

A 24-year-old man was arrested. Later that night, officers raided a home in Section D of Osizweni.

They discovered three-quarters of Mandrax tablets. A 52-year-old man was arrested.

These successful operations resulted in the arrest of three suspects, aged 23, 24, and 52, all charged with drug possession.

They are set to appear before the Madadeni High Court.
