Search underway for missing teen
Search and rescue teams are scouring the banks of the Ncandu River along Finnemore Street in the Paradise area for 16-year-old Shaibu Rajab, who reportedly fell into the river yesterday afternoon.
Members of Newcastle Community Policing Forum as well as SAPS and other crime fighter officials are also currently at the scene, assisting in the search.
The Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team (CCPA), together with Ressec Security, members of the Newcastle SAPS and Mornè Potgieter of Ithemba Security quickly attended to the scene, while search and rescue were also alerted.
The exact cause of the boy’s presumed drowning is not yet known and remains subject to further investigations.
