Early morning collision claims a life

All emergency services are currently still busy at the scene.

One person died and multiple others were injured after a light motor vehicle and a mini-bus taxi collided on Albert Wessels Drive, shortly after 07:00 this morning (April 15).

All emergency personnel are currently still at the scene, and motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution if travelling in the area.

The exact cause of the collision remains unknown and will be subject to further police investigation.

Craig Botha of the KwaZulu Private Ambulance Services stated that paramedics responded and provided immediate medical attention to two patients who had sustained serious injuries and four patients who had sustained minor injuries.

Once the patients had been stabilized, they were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
