Women invited to World Day of Prayer in Vryheid
Women in Vryheid invited to unite for the global World Day of Prayer service.
Women in Vryheid and neighbouring towns are invited to unite in prayer at the Women’s World Day of Prayer service, set to take place at Michaelis on Friday at 17:00.
A global movement of prayer
The World Day of Prayer is an international, women-led ecumenical movement that shares the hopes, concerns and prayers of women from around the globe.
Each year, women from a different country prepare and write the service, sharing their unique spiritual journey and culture.
Nigeria’s message of hope and rest
This year, the focus is on Nigeria under the theme ‘I Will Give You Rest’. The women of Nigeria have created a service that speaks to the need for peace and solace, drawing on their faith and experiences in a world filled with challenges and anxieties.
A continuous wave of prayer across the world
“This day is a powerful demonstration of global solidarity. It begins in Samoa and moves across the world in a continuous wave of prayer, finishing 38 hours later in American Samoa.
“It truly is a worldwide day of prayer,” the organisers shared.
Women united in faith and fellowship
Women in over 120 countries participate in this annual event, praying for peace and justice, healing and breakthroughs, as well as for families and communities. The gathering brings together women of different races, cultures and denominations in fellowship as they seek the presence of God.
All women are encouraged to attend and be part of this meaningful global movement of prayer.
