IFP announces reshuffle of local top brass

The political roundabout has come into play again

The IFP has reshuffled positions within the Umzinyathi District – a decision which has seen Msinga Mayor, Mletheni Ndlovu, ‘recalled’.

Mkhuleko Hlengwa, IFP spokesperson, told the Courier that the party’s NEC had met with Ndlovu on Monday and communicated the decision to have him recalled. He then duly resigned.

“The Party thanks Cllr Ndlovu for his service during his tenure as Mayor,” Hlenga said.

Cllr FJ Sikhakhane, the Speaker of UMzinyathi District Municipality, has been ‘redeployed’ to Msinga Local Municipality to take up the position of Mayor.

Meanwhile, Cllr Tyson Kunene of Msinga, has been shuffled across to the Umzinyathi District Municipality to take up the role of Speaker.  i

“The Political Oversight Committee (POC) will facilitate the implementation of these decisions.

“The IFP wishes these new leaders well in the execution of their duties,” Hlenga said.
