And the good rains keep on falling…
And the rain has already started to fall as 2023 takes up what 2022 started
The good rains that started in early summer are continuing. Doug Gordon, who has kept accurate rainfall figures for many years locally, has reported that 223mm fell in December – well above the long-term average of 167mm.
“There were 20 days in December where rain was measured with falls of between 1mm and 55mm measured,” Doug said.
The highest rainfall recorded for December was 350mm in 2012 and the lowest, 47mm in 1973.
“We can expect 136mm for January.
Happy New Year everyone may we continue to have a good rainy season for 2023,” said Doug.
