Man jailed for murdering woman in Umzinyathi area
A Dundee drug dealer has also been sentenced.
Sanele Manqele (27) has been jailed for 13 years for the murder of a woman last year in the Ematimatolo area.
In June 2023, Manqele quarrelled with his girlfriend at his home.
In fear for her life, the woman ran to a neighbour’s house.
He followed her, broke down the door and assaulted the woman, whom he left for dead before fleeing.
Detective Warrant Officer Khulumani Dlamini investigated a charge of murder and Manqele was arrested hours later.
In a separate case, foreign national Saint Ebuku (34) was sentenced to seven years on a charge of dealing in and possession of drugs in the Dundee area.
The Dundee prosecutor commended the ‘great work done by investigating officer Detective Constable Naomi van Huysteen’, praising her co-operation and support throughout the case.
“It is very encouraging to have officers like her in our community.”
