Church leaders raise GBV awareness through march to Dundee Magistrate’s Court

The march has reignited calls to end gender-based violence.

The scourge of gender based violence was again thrust into the spotlight when local church leaders headed a procession through Dundee to highlight ongoing violence against mainly women and children.

Last week, a man appeared in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court on charges of assaulting a three-year-old girl. The case sparked outrage, and protesters were outside the court when the man made his first court appearance.

Today’s march made its way down Victoria Street and snaked its way to the court house where a memorandum was presented to the court manager, Sithembile Chonco.
