Early-morning fun walk adds fresh energy to Glencoe market day

Glencoe residents enjoyed fitness, food, and festivities during a lively and well-attended market day.

Glencoe came alive last Saturday as locals turned out in numbers for the ever-popular Glencoe Market Day. This year, the day kicked off with a burst of energy, thanks to a brisk 5km fun walk.

Early risers laced up their takkies and hit the route in high spirits, enjoying the fresh morning air and camaraderie along the way. To reward their efforts, all participants proudly received smart finisher medals, adding a celebratory touch to the fitness-focused start of the day.
The fun walk set the tone for a festive and bustling market, which offered something for everyone.

For those who wished to take up a more rigorous challenge, the Boot Camp was the ideal event. From pulling a tyre to carrying weights, the Boot Camp was a race against time and strength, with the contestants under starter’s orders from Marius de Waal from the local Glencoe gym.
For those who often say ‘there’s nothing to do around here’, the Glencoe Market served as a clear and cheerful rebuttal.
