DHS tennis and cricket teams deliver the goods
Bowler Stuart Talanda produced a stunnning hattrick against Pionier.
Dundee High School’s first team tennis kicked off the season with a fixture against St Dominic’s in Newcastle on Friday and walked away with a well-earned win.
The weather conditions were perfect; and the players were excited, focused and prepared for the day.
All the team members contributed to the victory with consistent performances across the board.
Dundee secured a final score of 58-36, showing strong co-ordination and steady play in both the singles and doubles matches.
It was a difficult but successful day, with lots of fun along the way.
The players who took part were:
Mandie Conradie, Zalika Meyer, Azariah Pillay, Chanelle Pillay, Aryan Mungru, Pieter Bester, Liam Worley, Jordan Singh and Jared Pretorius.
Well done to the team for a solid performance and a well-deserved result.

DHS cricket
The first cricket team travelled to Vryheid on Saturday to play their first 30-over match of the season.
The team was on fire with their stunning new kit, sponsored by Imperial Bodyworks Dundee.
Excellent bowling from Stuart Talanda – with amazing figures of 7/15, which included a hat-trick – rattled Pionier.
Dillan Guelpa took 2/21 and Ryno Labuschagne 1/12.
Pionier was bowled out for 50 runs in 9.3 overs.
On a surface that offered little consistency, run-scoring required patience and discipline from the batsmen.
DHS reached the required score within nine overs.
They won by six wickets, a great start to the season.
The team thanks Mr S Mungru of Imperial Bodyworks Dundee for sponsoring the striking cricket kit for 2025.
