One killed in Dundee/Nquthu road crash

Fortuner crashes into a water tanker on the Dundee–Nquthu road, killing one and prompting police safety warnings.

A fatal collision occurred on the Dundee–Nquthu road early this morning when a Toyota Fortuner struck a water tanker.

Police confirmed that the driver died on impact, and rescue workers had to use the jaws of life to extract him from the wreckage.

Several passengers suffered critical injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution when travelling along this route.
