Dundee police appeal for help to find family of deceased man

Police appeal to the public to help identify a man found deceased near the Dundee–Vryheid road.

Police in Dundee are appealing to members of the community for assistance in locating the relatives of an unidentified man, believed to be between 38 and 45 years old.

Body discovered near Dundee–Vryheid road

SAPS spokesperson Cst Siyabonga Nkwanyana said the man’s body was found in a veld along the Dundee–Vryheid road near the Ngisana area. According to police, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and is believed to have been at the scene for approximately four to five weeks.

The deceased, described as an African male approximately 1.8 metres tall, was wearing blue smart takkies and blue trousers. He was found with a black clothing bag containing a few items of clothing, a cellphone charger, and a black wallet.

The body has been taken to the Dundee Forensic Mortuary for further investigation.
