The family of young Rayhaan Khan (11) is appealing for community support after he was seriously injured in a road accident in Glencoe on April 28. Rayhaan was hit by a vehicle and remains in critical condition in hospital, where he is receiving ongoing medical care.

Described by family and friends as a bright and gentle child, Rayhaan is known for his cheerful nature and the joy he brings to those around him.

On Workers’ Day, May 1, friends rallied together, led by Yasmin Maistry, to hold a cake sale in Glencoe to raise funds for Rayhaan, and a remarkable R3650 was raised.

Mounting medical expenses put a strain on the family

“He is a beautiful soul whose smile has touched so many lives,” said a family member.
While the family continues to support him through his recovery, they are also facing mounting medical expenses and the cost of ongoing care. They have appealed to the community to assist in any way possible.

“No contribution is too small. Every donation, share and prayer makes a difference,” the family said.

Messages of support have already begun to pour in, with many community members keeping Rayhaan in their thoughts during this difficult time.
