Local law officials track down vehicle stolen in Gauteng

According to Imran Ghafoor of the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, they had received information that the stolen vehicle had been spotted in Newcastle.

Various Newcastle law enforcement officials worked together this week and successfully recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Fairland, Johannesburg.

An operational team consisting of the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, the Newcastle VCIU (Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit), and Optimus Protection Services banged together and quickly tracked down the stolen vehicle.

“The vehicle was recovered and booked into SAPS 13, and the driver was taken into custody for further questioning,” he explained.

Ghafoor thanked each department and individual involved for yet another job well done!

He further advises residents to report all suspicious behavior and criminal activities to 072 632 3000.
