Newcastle K9 Unit (Highway Patrol) stops criminals dead in their tracks

Newcastle K9 Unit (Highway Patrol) successfully arrested and charged three thieves who were in possession of MTN cellular tower batteries.

Lizzy Arumugan, Newcastle SAPS corporate communications officer, police were monitoring the N11 when they stopped and searched a Toyota Sedan.

“Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered three MTN cellular tower batteries believed to have been stolen,” she explained.

All three suspects, aged between 23 to 26 years old, were arrested and charged for possession of stolen property and damage to essential infrastructure.

Further police investigations will follow.
