Details remain sketchy as this stage following a robbery at Endumeni municipality’s Dundee office last night, Wednesday, when a group of men gained access to the safe and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Unconfirmed reports said a group of men arrived at the offices after close of business posing as municipal employees who claimed to have left their laptops in the building.

It was claimed that the men  produced firearms and threatened the security personnel. SAPS are yet to comment on the incident.

Cllr Naresh Gopie, chairperson of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee, told the Courier information regarding the robbery was still being gathered.
