Police arrest more suspects for Loskop mass shooting

They will appear in the Estcourt Magistrate's Court soon

Police have made five more arrests linked to the mass shooting in Loskop on Sunday (October 27). One of the suspected gunmen was arrested on Sunday after being found injured in hospital.

The incident saw five people losing their lives, while one person was injured.

Police were quick to launch a manhunt for the five killers still at large.

According to a statement by the SAPS, an operation led by Crime Intelligence on Monday afternoon (October 28) uncovered the suspects’ cooling-off spot in Acaciavale, Ladysmith. Five suspects were found hiding in a room and were arrested. They were found in possession of two AK-47 assault rifles with 115 rounds of ammunition, two pistols with 12 rounds of ammunition, one .38 Special revolver with one round of ammunition, and a vehicle they used as the getaway car from the crime scene.”

The five men, aged between 23 and 46, will appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (October 30) on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Thereafter, they will be taken to Estcourt to face multiple murder charges.
