Knife-wielding thug attacks cyclist in Farquhar Road

She was stabbed 3 times by her attacker

In the early hours of this morning (about 04:30, October 31), a female cyclist was attacked by a knife-wielding thug in Farquhar Road. The woman was waiting for fellow cyclists to join her for their morning ride.

She was stabbed three times by the man as she desperately attempted to fend off his lunges. Her attacker narrowly missed killing her, as he tried to plunge his knife into her chest. Luckily, the blade bounced off her her rib cage and did not go through into her heart.

Grabbing her bicycle, the criminal fled into the night.

According to a source close to the investigation, the suspect is a known ‘para’ who has a violent history.

Anyone with pertinent information can contact Detective Sergeant Dave Warmenhoven on 0833400875
