Newcastle Municipality host second careers expo

The expo aims to assist and expose Grade 12 students to various career options in order for them to choose the career paths they want to pursue after high school.

The Newcastle Municipality career expo is currently underway at the Farmers Hall. The expo, dubbed ‘the biggest career expo in Northern KZN’, will run from the July 31 until August 3.

Thousands of young learners from schools all over the Amajuba district descended upon the show hall on day one to gain information regarding furthering their studies after matriculating.

In collaboration with businesses such as Vodacom, Stucky Motors and ArceloMital, the expo has brought together the country’s leading education institutions under one roof.

“We are gathered here today for the career expo, to assist grade 12 learners in receiving guidance in the fields of study they wish to follow , what requirements they need to meet in order to gain entry into those fields and to determine where we can assist when it comes to bursaries,” said Mayor Xolani Dube.

“What’s important today is that our children will be given information and assistance in order to further their education,” he concluded.
