Newcastle SAPS need assistance identifying deceased person

The Newcastle SAPS are appealing to members of the community to assist them in identifying a body which was found in a field in Ncandu Park on December 13.
An African male, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30, was discovered among the reeds in a field on Drakensberg Drive according to Lizzy Arumugam of the Newcastle SAPS corporate communications department.
“At the time of the discovery, the deceased was naked and in a state of decomposition. His death was ruled as unnatural.”
Arumugam stated that the only distinguishing features were a silver ring on his left ring finger and an African lion tooth necklace with two beads. However, his identity remains unknown.
