Al-Imdaad Foundation rush to assist displaced flood victims
The foundation, in collaboration with the Newcastle Community Policing Forum (CPF) and various other NGOs, provided mattresses, warm blankets, and hygiene items to displaced flood victims.
Over 80 people were displaced, scared, and seeking shelter at the Fairleigh Hall following Saturday’s torrential rains.
The Al-Imdaad Foundation rushed to the residents’ aid, providing much-needed assistance after receiving a request to do so from provincial disaster management team
“The foundation, in collaboration with the Newcastle Community Policing Forum (CPF) and various other NGOs, provided mattresses, warm blankets, and hygiene items to displaced flood victims while they sought temporary shelter in the Fairleigh Hall,” Irfaan Ahmed, head of disaster response at the Al-Imdaad Foundation, said.
Mr Ahmed expressed his gratitude to the CPF for ‘doing such an outstanding job of assisting those in need, as well as to the various stakeholders and volunteers, including the Ladies Forum, who provided food to flood victims’
“In working together, there is no limit to what we can do in striving to serve humanity,” he concluded.
