Municipality promotes small businesses

Traders had the opportunity to show off their wares in the main street

Alfred Duma Local Municipality, led by Mayor Zama Sibisi, held a Flea Market in Murchison Street recently.

The idea behind the market was to promote small local businesses by giving them a chance to showcase their products in a central location with lots of ‘foot traffic’.

Public Safety officials closed the road where the stalls were set up.

Local artists performed during the day while people were shopping.

The guest artists were Ndee (gospel) and Menzi (maskandi).

All the traders were excited to have the opportunity to generate profits, share ideas and grow their business.
