Amajuba District Municipality joins uplifting Good Friday church services

In observance of Easter, one of the most important events on the Christian calendar, the Amajuba District leadership, led by Mayor Cllr. uMntwana Ndabuko Zulu, attended various church services in and around the Amajuba District.

The Mayor and Speaker officially began their visits on April 7, when they attended the first church service at the Methodist Church in Osizweni.

As the congregation worshiped with uplifting scriptures and equally beautiful hymns, the leaders observed the joyful church service with great honour, grace, and serenity.

Mayor Zulu gifted their very own centenarian, ugogo MaNkosi Hadebe, with a premium quality bed, fit for a queen’s restful night’s sleep, after attending Gogo’s 100th birthday a week ago and making a commitment to present her with a gift she could put to good use.

Buyi Nkosi, gogo uMaNkosi’s granddaughter, accepted the thoughtful gift on her behalf and expressed gratitude to the Mayor.

Mayor Zulu said he is humbled by the warm reception he received from the Methodist congregation and wished them a blessed Easter weekend.

He hinted in his address to the congregation that he was fulfilling a promise he made to ugogo MaNkosi Hadebe at her 100th birthday celebration to accompany her to the Easter service.

The Easter weekend programme continued with visits to the Emfundweni Temple in Madadeni, section 7, and the True Servants of God Ministries in Blaauwbosch led by Deputy Mayor Cllr.T.Mthembu and Council Speaker, S.O Zulu.
