Happy Mother’s Day: Newcastle honours the special women in their lives
Mother's Day is almost approaching, and we at the Newcastle Advertiser are all about celebrating those women who have helped shape us into the people we are today!
So, in order to honor the amazing women in our lives, readers were given the opportunity to tell us what made their mother’s special.
Here is what they had to say:
Poppie van Staaden:

“This is my mom (Poppie Van Staden); she is the strongest mother I know. She lost two sons and both parents, and she is still getting up every day! She is looking after herself, always dressed pretty and neat as a pin, and all 10 of her grandchildren are always just too proud to have such a loving, pretty granny. The thing is, she is a mother to so many people. And she is so good at it. She deserves more than just a prize.”
Magda Blackler:

“This is my mother, Marie Jonker. the most amazing woman in the world, Marie Jonker. Mom, you are the best I could ever ask for, and I love you to infinity and beyond.”
Kershal Roopsingh:

“Thank you, mom, for all that you do for us. We love and appreciate you. Happy Mother’s Day from Arihaan and Eliana.”
Shirley Singh:

“You are the greatest gift from the heavens, filled with love and care for all your children, grandchildren, and the entire family. Happy Mother’s Day mama bear. We love you.”
Hazel Venter:

“Dear Mommy. Raising my brother and me took a lot of patience; you sacrificed so we could rise. Right from the start, you supported us in everything. Now that we are grown up, we don’t just feel gratitude for you; we admire you. If you weren’t our mom, we would definitely have chosen you as a friend. We love you so much, Mommy… We thank God for you as our mom. All our love Theunie and Nicolene.”
Nayistha Singh:

“Happy Mother’s Day, Mummy. I love you. From Sherwin”

“Dear Mom, We want you to know, Mom, that you made us who we are now. We want you to know we love you, Mom. We want you to know, Mom, that you’re incredible, and we’re really proud of you. You always say how lucky you are, but I’m sure we’re the lucky ones because we get to call you our mom! Lots of love, Neetesh, Shivashni, and Reshmitha.”

“My beloved mother is simply like no other; she’s our rock. There are simply no words to describe her; she’s a 1 in a million with a heart of gold. Our mother resides in Newcastle, and we, as her kids, live in CT. She takes care of her late sister’s kids. That is the type of mother we have, and we are indeed blessed love u momma. You are their most amazing soul, inside and out. Happy Mother’s Day!”

It is true that when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know. Mama, you are our first friend, our best friend, and our forever friend. Life would be so dull without you, mummy. You are the sunshine in our and Daddy’s lives. You feed us and need us to teach you to play. So smile because we love you, and enjoy Mother’s Day! From Ashshiv and Keshshiv Singh.”
