Provincial commissioner hands over new police vehicles

The vehicle keys were handed to the district commanders at the parade

Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi (provincial commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal) handed over a total of 188 vehicles to police stations and units during a parade that was held at the Truro Hall Sports Ground in Northdale, Pietermaritzburg, recently.

The vehicles include mobile Community Service Centres (CSCs), tow trucks and motorbikes.

Ladysmith police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan confirmed that Ladysmith received a BMW vehicle.

This allocation of resources coincides with provincial management’s strategy to intensify operations throughout the province, including Crime Intelligence-led operations in identified hot-spot areas.
