Newcastle municipality continues to resolve sewage issues and spills around
In its efforts to address all sewer spillage challenges plaguing town, the Newcastle Municipality’s Water Services technical team was seen on the ground repairing a sewer collapse at the Kirkland and Allen Street intersection.
Since the municipality has commenced pumping sewerage coming from the Voortrekker Pumpstation, it will resolve all the sewerage spillage in the lower CBD, Lennoxton, Amiel Park, Paradise, and other areas closer to the CBD.
The Kirkland and Allen Street intersection is temporarily closed for traffic; road users are urged to utilise other alternative routes.
Residents will be notified on when the intersection will be re-opened.
