Clash of the titans at Dundee High/Sarel Cilliers Derby Day

Dundee High School (DHS) hosted an incredible Derby Day on Saturday, with food stalls, arts & crafts, as well as a kids zone with many happy little faces on the jumping castle.
DHS learners had the opportunity to compete against Sarel Cilliers and what a day it was!
The scores were as follows:
Girls’ hockey:
U/14 lost 0-1; U/16 won 5-0; Second team won 4-1; First team drew 1-1.
Boys’ hockey:
Second team lost 0-2; First team won 1-0.
Netball:
U/14-A won 11-10; U/14-B won 7-2; U/15 won 8-5; U/16 lost 16-26.Second team won 27-10; The first team score was 17-1 to DHS in the first quarter, but Sarel Cilliers forfeited and the game was stopped.
Chess:
The chess team drew 5-5.
Rugby:
U/14 lost 10-12; U/15 won 20-5; U/16 lost 12-7; Second team lost 0-19.
Even though the first team lost 10-12, these boys played their hearts out on the field.
Every single player stepped up to make it an incredible game to watch! It was such a treat to witness some good rugby that every old scholar could be proud of.
Team work, passion and grit summarise the game perfectly.
